We were appointed to provide structural engineering consulting for renovations to a Grade II Listed building dating back to the late 1700’s, which is part of Enfield Grammar School’s estate. ART Architects secured funding for urgent works to improve access and upgrade the roof structure including fitting abseiling points and conducting a range of repair works to the rafters, trusses, parapets and various structural walls.
Our works included a site visit to specify trial pits and surveys. Design of a piled raft for a new staircase including CAD drawings for Tender and a package of calculations for Building Control. A site visit to inspect the roof structure once the contractor had mobilised. Delivery of sketches and specification for the various strengthening and repair works required. Checking subcontractor designs where they impacted on the existing structure. Design of alterations to accommodate obstructed piles.
